Influence of global technological advancement on human resources management in third world economies

Technology advancement is one of the powerful driving forces of which digital business communications improvements have changed various organizational activities. The way that organizations perform their task is currently associated with contemporary concepts such as recruitment, digital business, e-commerce, customer relationship management, and human resource management amongst others. This study decomposed global technological advancement into Cloud computing and artificial intelligence with leverage on Resource-Based Theory to examine the impact of technological advancement on human resource management. This study examines the impact of technological advancement on human resource management. The study adopts an exploratory research design while content analysis of publicly available archive documents was employed for the analysis. Secondary data were generated via journal publications and other documented materials relevant to the study. The review of literature on the influence of technological advancement on human resource management in third-world economies showed that there is a significant effect of cloud computing and artificial intelligence on human resource management. Hence the study recommended that the management of complex organizations, institutions, and the like should increase patronage of the cloud computing storing capacity of their institutions as this will enhance productivity, accuracy, and sustainable practices for improved ethical and structural ethos of these organizations. This study also recommends that more artificial intelligence tools should be set up and given to the ICT unit of ministries, departments, and agencies of government for effective inter-ministerial collaborations and transfer of information.
